2016 Rio Games

Date: 22nd Jun 2016 @ 8:23pm

Today key stage 2 have been to the Orford Hub in Warrington to participate in the 2016 Rio Games. The day was great fun for all of those who attended from many schools all across the town.

While we were there we participated in orienteering which took us all around the park, tri-golf - where we got to play a variety of games using putters and irons, quad-kids - where the team had to participate in a 600m run, a 75m sprint, a standing long jump and a vortex howler distance throwing competition. We also participated in a football tournament and a lacrosse tournament. As you can see there was plenty going on and all of our teams represented our school in an excellent manner, well done everyone.

Throughout the day we had some excellent performances from both teams and individuals. Special mentions to Max who had some excellent performances in goal for the football team, Kayne and Jaden for winning their 600m and 75m running races and to Leyton who launched the vortex an amazing distance - the marker was most impressed as it sailed past him at a great pace and he had to turn and run after it to mark it correctly!

We also have to say a huge congratulations to our golf team who came home with a silver medal in our first ever golf competition!

As well as our success in the golf we also managed to put in an amazing performance in the lacrosse tournament where we went all tournament unbeaten and were crowned CHAMPIONS!!! Well done team, those GOLD MEDALS looked great!!

A great day for our school! Well done to all teams!
