Burwardsley 2016

So far so good!

After the delayed start with the bus we finally got 18 very excited children on the way.

The  children have all been amazing and have walked their little legs off. We got dropped off at Peckforton castle and discovered that it takes the whole of class 1 to get round the big tree. We then had a very muddy climb through the woods to our picnic spot. It was a very welcome food break and I've never seen a packed lunch get eaten so quick and that was just Mrs Johnstone! We had a great game of hide and seek and William is the best hider in class 1s history of hide and seek. After some animal habitat spotting we set off again. The weather held out for the whole walk back and we even fitted in a bit of sketching in the woods. The walk back was so eventful we even had one little one who was almost asleep as he walked!

The play area at the Centre is particularly muddy but that hasn't stopped us having some fun.

We have sang songs around the campfire (even jingle bells!!!) and had the toasted marshmallows, all while sheltering from the rain under the canopy of the trees.

The children are all in bed now (most asleep but not quite all), slightly grubby but having had a brilliant first day.

We are all looking forward to some den building and birthday cake for Louie tomorrow
