Burwardsley day 2

Date: 29th Jun 2019 @ 6:32pm

For the first time in all my residential history the boys were all still asleep at 7am but the girls were awake!

After a great breakfast with many having seconds and thirds we packed up our bags ready for the days activities. We started with a visit to the Iron Age round house learning all about how it was made and how the people used to live. The questions the children had were very thoughtful and showed their enthusiasm for learning. We then split into groups to begin a rotation of three activities. We had a go at making string and turning it into our very own bracelets. We also had ago at making a coil pot which was actually quite tricky but everyone did a super job. The last activity was probably everyone’s favourite, we became archaeologists and dug up different artefacts. I think digging in the mud was the reason we liked it so much but the look on everyone’s faces when we found things was brilliant.

After a very busy morning we had a long awaited for lunch before a final play. According to the children the trip was a definite 👍.

The children behaved brilliantly, their independence was fantastic and they all took great care of their own things.

I’m one very proud teacher and thank all the parents for allowing the children to come and enjoy this wonderful experience, the children were a credit to you and the school.
