Class 3 Tattenhall Residential

Date: 13th Mar 2017 @ 10:32pm

Day 1:

We arrived safely this morning and were given a tour of the centre and set up our dorms. Once completed we had a quick break outside and had our lunches.

Our activities this afternoon were the low level rope assault course and the archery. Everyone had a great time on both of these events and were firing arrows with increased accuracy and swinging from platform to platform on a rope swing like Tarzan in the jungle! Special mentions to Teddy and Sade for their performances in the archery where they did very well and managed to score really well and even hit the bullseye! Also well done to Mr. Bamber who won the fiercely fought inter staff battle...beginners luck I think!

Tea tonight was pizza or chicken goujons. We must have needed it as there wasn't much left over!

After tea we went outside and completed an orienteering challenge around the grounds which the children all really enjoyed. Well done to Riley, Tiana, Imogen and Teddy who were the runaway winners!

Finally tonight we watched Horrid Henry and have nicely settled down in our dorms. Pretty much everyone asleep before 10:15pm...all that fresh air working wonders!

More updates tomorrow! Night all, Mr. O

Day 2:

Today we have been on our canoe trip up the local canal. It was an early start and straight into a nice cooked breakfast  before getting ready to build our rafts. We lashed 2 canoes together learning about the different types of knots we had to tie and then we set off!

Everyone did really well and we reached our first stop off after about 40mins. After lunch we set off for a wander through the woodland and explored the Gowy tunnels. The water was pretty cold and there were lots of very wet shoes and wellies but everyone managed to challenge themselves and reach the other end! Once back in our canoes we set off back towards the centre and fought well against a strong headwind trying to push us back! I do have to report of a sickening capture and kidnapping of India, who was wrestled from her teams canoe and held hostage by Mr. O and his band of water pirates!

Back at the centre tonight we have had a good play outside, completed a team quiz and watched Hotel for Dogs before heading to bed...all asleep by 9:50!

The tree climb and the zip wire await us tomorrow...Mr. Bamber can't wait!

Mr. O
