Class 4 Conway Day 1

Date: 6th Feb 2018 @ 1:51pm

Hello!

Today  has been both exciting and exhausting. We arrived in Llanberis at around 12, we first went into the slate museum where we watched a slate splitting demonstration and learnt about the history of slate mining in Wales. After a spot of lunch, we did the quarry man’s walk. We saw amazing views and collected things that we will be using in artwork later on. We collected words, photos and objects that we found.

We finally arrived at the centre at around 4.30. We quickly settled into our rooms and went straight for a delicious tea. After which, we started some artwork. We explored artwork by Kyffin Williams, who was from Anglesey, and attempted to create pictures from our walk in his style. This was surprisingly challenging but we made a fantastic start and will complete them tomorrow.

Finally, we arrived back at our accommodation for a drink and read some Skyhawk before heading to bed.
